REACHING OUT FROM THE LAND OF LEAFS (MOSTLY MAPLE)

Single Black Female, Caribbean descent, university educated, homeowner, well traveled, mild mannered, funny, affectionate and loyal.

I enjoy snow skiing (avid skier), rollerblading, ice skating, swimming, hiking, softball, volleyball, hockey, and tennis. Open to introduction to other adventures as well.

I love literature, foreign and independent films, hosting dinner parties, spontaneous travel, wine tasting, art galleries/museums, theatre, concerts and lively political banter where disagreement is a welcomed part of the discourse (often followed by big chested hugs which generally squash staunch positions. LOL.)

I have long admired the resilience of South Africans. As a child I donated my acute taste buds to the licking of stamps and envelops to hasten an end to apartheid. Today the rainbow nation's people have seduced me and captured my heart. Over the last few years I have visited the region and find myself obsessed with the diverse languages, cultures, art, food, music and most importantly, people.

And still, I would be remis to negate to mention my hopes, prayers and well wishing are with the Zimbabwean people (Shona, Ndebele, Colored, Asian and European alike) at a tumultuous time, for it was they who set the initial example for South Africa, "Shamwari Ndatenda!" I haven't forgotten that the House of Stone is built on a solid foundation. Zimbabwe forever "pamberi newe sha".

At present I am learning Zulu and Afrikaans, cook an amazing pot of seena/sadza with a decent samosa on the horizon, perfecting my braai skills, and love kwaito music though Vusi Mahlasela, Ringo Malingwiso, Zivanai Masango, and Brenda Fassie take turns bringing me to absolute tears when I'm not singing to the top of my lungs armed with a banana microphone. LOL. I'd tell you about the dancing but well....

My dream is to relocate permanently to South Africa.

Please note I appreciate ALL the colors of the Rainbow! For those who do not reign from the resilient nation don't be shy, it would be my pleasure to share this wonderous place with you for a moment, a day, a weekend, a lifetime.

And should you wish to be my guide, directing my gaze to new lands, that I might touch and be touched by a stunning people, my gratitude readily awaits your service as a vessel of global comradry. Merci beaucoup mon amis. (Thank you very much my friends.)

My very best to you all in your search. I do so hope you find who you are looking for soon.

Who Am I looking for? Well...It is my want to appreciate the uniqueness of the person who suits me best. As God is so infinite in his wisdom and ability to produce spectacular people, it would be a shame for me to place limits on individuality, human expression, personality and favorable quality. As a result I seek the man provided by God, sanctioned by Mom with the ability to look beyond consensus to appreciate my particularities, love me past my pain, overlook my inadequacies, enhance/hone my strengths and lead me through a sure-footed and inspiring exchange of mutual love, respect, affection, and adoration.

Cheers!

P.S. Please note I permanently BLOCK ALL cut and paste messages...Kindly, come correct or not at all. Thanks.
