The Problems Start

The registration and use of AfroDatingDirect.com pissed off a certain large company called Dating Direct who had trademarked their name, had a vast array of resources, and an expensive lawyer, and forced my ISP to put the website down. On legal advice, not to mention the resources that could be applied, I surrendered the domain name to Dating Direct, and immediately registered AfrikaDating.com, using the proper Swahili spelling of Africa. I shifted the domain and database across and although the site was down for a whole day, after a bit of tweaking and rebranding, AfrikaDating was born. In retrospect, AfroDatingDirect was a not a good name to choose, and if Dating Direct are reading this, I'd like to apologise them and their lawyers.

I emailed all the members to date, and fortunately they are all still with us.
